My Bike !!
I now have a new Suzuki SV650S, in blue no less, lots of fun, way lighter than
my old bike (an '83 Suzuki 750ESD) nimble and stable,
I plan on riding a lot more than I did when I lived in Seattle.
Here are some pictures of the bike before I started all of the modifications,
and yes it does get a whole garage stall to itself:
Here are the things that I've done (or have ordered) for this bike
(in reverse order of appearance):
- Cycleslider
(from www.cycleslider.com)
- Airkit (filters, stacks and jets, not installed yet)
(by Renegade Products)
- Pitbull Front fork stand (triple clamp style) bike list group buy ($125) from
EMA.
- A (used, $20) Suzuki Gel Seat
- Rear-set adapters
- Replacement (and spare) brake levers (~$3.95) from
The Cycle Center of Denton
- A clear Double Bubble Windscreen (
Zero Gravity from
The Cycle Center of Denton)
apparently Zero Gravity's machines are broken, and the smoke/colored windscreens
are severely back-ordered, who knows how long, so I bought the cheaper
clear one that was in stock at CCofD.
-
Front and Rear Blinkers Lockhart-Phillips Iridium Short Stalk IV's from
The Sportbike Outfitter,
Lockhart-Phillips Marker IV, Iridium, Medium Flush mount front turn signals,
from AZ Motorsports, and my Marker Light
adapters (for easy swapping) from
The Cycle Center of Denton
- Underseat Exhausts
(by Renegade Products)
- Rear stand
(Pit Bull,
from Helimot, a local store)
- Front and Rear steel-braided brake lines, not installed yet
(by Galfer, from The Cycle Center of Denton)
- Rear seat cowl
(by Suzuki, from Chicago Cycle Center)
- Eclipse Sportbike Tanktote
(from Moto Depot)
- Clear Taillight lens (and red LED bulbs)
(from Clear Alternatives)
- Removable tank protectors
(from TheTankSlapper.com)
- NEP Throttle lock/cruise control
(from AZ Motorsports)
- Rear luggage rack
- Removed warning stickers
Here are the things that I'm still considering getting for this bike:
- Intuitive Pro Frame Sliders
- Longer mirrors
- Front fork work, oil, adjustment
Interesting "Incidents" (and assorted damage)
- 8/14/02 - slow topple over (Elena's driveway)
- snapped front brake lever
- bent rear brake pedal
- scraped right turn signal
