Cameo died today, the house docs won't be ready till next week, not a hell of
a lot more can go wrong now.
- 12/17/00
Well Cameo seems like she's doing ok at the hospital, visited her both days, but
it'll be hard during the week since it's about an hour away from work (especially
with daytime traffic) some of her vitals are getting better, but she's definitely
anemic now so they've started treatment for that, and the hyper-thyroidism. She's doing
better now that we put a box in her cage for her to hide in but she has lost a bit
of weight still, probably from the stress and change in diet.
Yesterday I did some shopping, and it took me a half an hour to get out
of the mall parking lot -- didn't actually finish my xmas shopping, but did
manage to buy a new ski bag and ski camelback at Tri-City sporting goods, now
I'm all ready for Jackson Hole.
Last night it was dinner at Karen's with Cheryl and Kent, and the princess showed
up for good measure -- the food was great, even if we didn't have a table to
eat on, or a matched set of chairs to sit in ;). Today I shopped again, different
mall, same results, but at least I picked up some good ideas so I can finish up
my shopping.
I also finally started working on my pictures again, I'll have pics of cameo and
fila's alterations by tonight, and hopefully the last aloha sunday this week.

Took Cameo to the specialist, and now she has to stay in the pet hospital. In
addition to the liver disease (hapatic lipodosis) she has acute renal failure, so
they're keeping her on dialysis. The vet also thinks that she may have a case
of hyper-thyroidism that is keeping her from getting well so there will be tests
for that. At least the liver disease is getting better, now if they can just turn
around the kidney problem she might actually make it to the new place.
Speaking of which, the townhouse didn't close today, the HOA is moving offices
and was doing no work this week, still looks like next week is a go though.
Played some bball today, a bit ragged but good to run, unfortunately both groups
I play with won't be having a gym until March so I'll have to ski to stay
in shape ;)

Well Cameo isn't getting any better, still vomiting, and diarrea, so the vet had me
bring her in today for a fluid IV. Then another set of blood tests. Since she hasn't
gained any weight, even though we've increased her food intake, he wants a second opinion
from an internist (yeah I guess even vets specialize) so tomorrow we're off to Fremont
tomorrow to see her.
Still no papers to sign for the townhouse, I guess after Wa Mu finished the appraisal
eval, they asked for the HOA to provide some paperwork on the ratio of homeowners to renters.
I guess my mortgage guy had asked for this before, and didn't get it, but didn't think
it would be a last minute requirement so now we wait some more. In any case we were supposed
to close tomorrow, but now it's looking like the middle of next week.
Yesterday was a pretty good day, I finally managed lunch with Kiz, that was fun and
we'll be trying to get our schedules to mesh in the next few weeks. Today was lunch with
Harry (my cousin) and it was good to catch up, I'll probably see a good portion of the
rest of the family at granddad's dinner over xmas.
We're now into stage 3 of the holiday terrorist decorating at work.
It's been an ongoing effort, first it was orange filled water bottles with
drawings for Halloween, then it was tacky turkeys (purple water bottles, with colored
popsicle sticks for feathers) and now, we've finally put a santa suit (and other
decorations) on the bull statue outside our building. I'll eventually
get a set of pictures up but until then we're starting to cause quite a stir at
work.

Arrgh, long layoff from journal entries, mostly since I've been really busy
feeding Cameo very slowly through her feeding tube, that and lots of concerns
about my loan app. Cameo was only home for a couple of days, unfortunately she
didn't gain any weight. So when I headed back to Seattle I left her with the vet
again. My vet is awesome -- he was worried about Cameo so he actually took her home
for the weekend, and put her in his bathtub so he could feed her, good thing Cameo
is really docile. In any case he got her to eat more, but she still hasn't gained
weight. Tonight something got stuck in her feeding tube and there was nothing I could
do to clear it. Luckily Dr Paul (the vet) was working late, and he heard my message
and called me back. I brought Cameo in and he worked on the tube for about a half an
hour (well after closing) and finally had to replace it (kinda odd to see stuff leaking
out of her side when he pulled the tube out) anyway she's not all that happy now, throws up
when I feed her, but I guess thats to be expected after all the hassle with the feeding
tube.
My townhouse was supposed to close this week, however it sounds like Wa Mu is dragging their
feet (actually researching the appraisal that was made) My broker thinks its either a
year end thing or they're getting ready to buy someone since they're being picky on
all of the loans not just mine. Good news is that I was doing research and it should
be straight forward to move my DSL -- *if* I get a new phone number .. I guess DSL service
for new accounts is 2 weeks (but it can overlap my existing service) but actually moving
the service, with the same phone number at the new place, will take 1 1/2 months, go figure.
The weekend was pretty fun, first I scored a free flight on Alaska by volunteering to re-route
through Portland (not bad for an extra hour's delay) then it was off to dinner with Angel,
a bit of shopping then an appearance at Ken's house (Kat's fiancee) for dominos and poker.
It was fun seeing everyone, especially since Daryl was in town too. Saturday was an attempt
to go shopping at a crafts fair but Angel got the date wrong, so we settled for Dim Sum.
That night it was the Sonics game with Daryl, he was rooting for the wrong team, and since
the Sonics lost, karma says he doesn't get to go to any more games ;). Later it was drinks
with the rest of the volleyball clan, where I find out that Monty got married (Jen is
very nice, and they're expecting) Noe got a new car (black gt3000 !!!) and Hiroko still
isn't pregnant (although she and Mark did finally get married ;)
Sunday it was all out war at SMB, and my back was sore, but I did manage to talk to
Kari and find out that she and Kellie really are twins and they played bball at Division
1 colleges (Univ of Oregon, and Idaho State) I think I'll try and hook them up with my
sisters open gym (women's only) if they ever send me any email (Kari actually works in
software). Later I tried to nap, and then decided to spa it and loosen up my back -- but
nooo, the spa is cold, and the pump doesn't work, probably because the heater element
is out -- bought a new one, but it was too cold (snowing even) to put it in, maybe
over new years. So instead I headed off to dinner with Angel and then to see Vertical Limit.
Yeah this was an Angel weekend, strange that everyone else was extremely busy and didn't
have time to get together, maybe next time.
- 12/4/00
Managed to get up for rev-coed 4's at SMB Sunday morning, but since there
were only 5 teams, I was done (and my back was stiff) by noon. Christi came
by to have lunch with us and it was pretty nice catching up with her and everyone
else.
That afternoon it was off to see the rest of the vball gang at the rev-4's tourny
managed to surprise a few people, and got to see how well along Marisa is, she's
due right around when my cousin is due in LA. I even got a chance to chat
with Colleen Clark, who swears she'll email me her new address but given past
history I won't be holding my breath ;) It was a pretty good tourny, it looked
like Ed's team (with Tina, Colleen and Joel) was the strongest of the bunch, but
there were lots of players (even Laura was playing for Mark's team). Chatting
with Kelli and Kim I found out that Kellie would be at the Sonics game that evening
too, though she scored better seats (courtside under the basket) than I had
(Deby's tix in row 3).
After the tourny it was off to the Sonics game with Miyo, Lo and Kenny, we had
dinner at Racha's, there was much discussion about Ken's harem but he, as always,
was extremely tight lipped about it. So much so that it was a running joke for the
night. Ken started to insist that I should move back because of all of the single
women, however since they all seem to be flocking to him, I said that I should
probably take him around like my pet dog to attract women for me, Lo just couldn't
stop laughing ...
The game was awesome again, have never seen anyone score 50+ points, too bad it was
against the Sonics, strangely though the Sonics did win by 16 or so.
This morning I picked Cameo up from the vet, they're going to let me try
and feed her through her tube (feeding tube in her stomach) but I have to try
and feed her every 4 hours or so -- good thing she doesn't struggle much at all.
This afternoon I started signing scads of loan papers so that everything
could be re-submitted, turns out that the previous set of loan papers were done
in June, and the lendors wanted a more current set of numbers for verification.
- 12/2/00
Such a long weekend, and its not even over yet. Cameo
went back to the vet cuz I was leaving for the weekend, and
she hadn't gained any weight yet even though she appeared stronger,
so the vet ended up putting a feeding tube into her stomach so they
can feed her directly. I'm sure she's not all that happy about it,
hopefully I'll get to take her home for a bit on monday.
Thursday was Sonics mania, boy do they play different under Nate,
and the crowd was really into it -- we stomped the Lakers like it
was the pre Shaq era.
Friday I worked from home, caught lunch with Lou for the first time
in a long time and then headed out to the motocycle show with
Carey and Jo to see Chuck -- almost bought a bike again, but I wouldn't
be able get it to CA -- still saw nothing there that would change
my mind -- I'm going to be getting a Suzuki SV650S sometime after
I move into my new townhouse. Later we had dinner with some of Jo's
friends, and yet another small world story -- one of them (Romelo)
said he went to Seattle Prep, so I asked, and sure nuff he knew
Angel, and had lost contact with her (and her cute friend Alison ;)
In any case as we were leaving the resturant Angel called so I suprised
her by giving him the phone. Later that night it was X-Men with
Angel, Tango and Thomas Kemper (root beer !!)
Saturday Kat and I went to visit my buddy at Video Only so she
could research buying a new tv (36" !!!) she didn't buy one then
but I think she narrowed her list. Then it was dim sum with Kat and
Angel at Hong's Garden. Later I took Angel on a shopping spree, it
was Victorian Chistmas at the Puyallup -- pretty large, picked up
a few nifty things (one pet hair remover brush that made Angel's pilled
fleece look like new) and then headed on home. Was going to watch
the Sonics for a bit but fell asleep, then when I woke they were
on the verge of losing, so I headed off to see Jackie Chan instead
Pretty fun, tomorrow will be busy before I have to leave.
