Well it was a pretty expensive weekend, spent all saturday with Lily, shopping and movies (IKEA again for the sale, then up to Berkeley on 4th street). Sunday was recovery day, slept late, did a bit of grocery shopping, then put together my (new) coffee tables (everything in the living room is turning IKEA birch ;) and just vegged out in front of the TV.

Today I was going to work, but then the spending urge hit me, so I wandered off to Gilroy to shop. Started slow then built up pretty good momentum, finally ended up with 2 pairs of shoes, 1 pair of sandals (all Nike), 3 pairs of atheletic shorts, 5 pairs of walking shorts (replacing just about all of the ones I've been trashing lately), a carpet runner, set of sheets, new comforter, assorted kitchen trinkets, and some cool mini-silver statues from Dansk. That took all of 7+ hours since I didn't want to move my car from lot to lot and ended up hoofing all 4 mall areas.

Somewhere in there Miki invited me to dinner, but I was running/shopping pretty late so I wasn't going to make it, finally while passing by their place I figured I'd stop by, good thing too, not only was the food excellent (as always ;) but Jen (the startup queen) was there, she's very cool, and if Miki had just bothered to say she'd be there, I'd have probably been on time ;). In fact, shes moving into the neighborhood, so maybe she'll be around a bit more.

So this past week I dropped Fila's insulin dose from 3.5 units to 3 units, seems like sporadic results though, because I was out late Sat, his shots were not timed too well, and his peeing pattern (and amount) has changed a bit, hopefully this week it'll settle down again and then I can drop the amount even more.

Busy week at work, managed to get a large chunk done, now there is just some smaller pieces left that aren't under as severe time constraints. Totally forgot that this weekend was a long weekend, not much to do, but I did arrange to go to IKEA tomorrow with Lily, bummer though, they just started their "only twice a year" sale, may be a madhouse, that and late travellers for the holidays.

Booked my flight to LA for the Hermosa Beach Open, only I hope there really is a tourny, the AVP is up in the air and it sounds like the BVA is tussling with them over joint events.

Had lunch with Kiz, now she's off to St Martins, courtesy of some "friend" so I keep telling her I expect her back with a new beau ... at least shes a good sport even if shes starting to make those "you're such a good friend" statements. I may have to cure her of that ;)

Ok, kinda stressfull weekend, because of some last minute changes, I wasted a week of work, and had to work saturday to try and catch back up, will still be a couple of days late, but at least I'm not on the hook for it.

Tried to start eating better, had fish for dinner Sat, Sunday I tried to play vball (indoor 6's) but I was soo tired, thought it was the lack of food, but its been really hot lately so that may have helped too. In any case I ended up taking a 3 hr nap that evening.

Today I was looking forward to trying yoga again, even went early to ride the bike some, strange though, at 8:30 no one was there, went to look at the desk and there was a cancellation notice, too bad it wasn't there when I came in, I'd have done something else. Now I'll have to wait 2 more weeks to try it again since they're closed on memorial day, speaking of which I think I'll try and find something fun to do then.

On the social front not much going on, have a lunch scheduled with Lisa, and another with Kiz, haven't seen much of her lately, and she's going to be off for a vacation soon but I did hear that she dumped her boyfriend, so now she's off to party for a bit, this could be very entertaining.

The economic downturn is hitting us a little closer to home now, NetApp has announced that we're all to take the week of July 2-6 off as vacation while they shut down everything but sales -- supposidly this will save us on the order of $2M which should do wonders for the bottom line, well at least they're not having layoffs .... yet.

Taking that week off doesn't help me much, I was already scheduled to be at Laguna Seca with Carey & Jo to see the Superbike races, so now I have to find something to occupy the first part of the week -- maybe the Seattle NAGVA tourny on that weekend, but I'll even then I'll still have 3 days mid-week to cover.

They finished off my root canal today, and my jaw is sore, good thing I get to rest tonight, maybe I'll catch a movie or something.

Soreness abounds, managed to make it to IKEA this past weekend and pick up a couple of lamps and some wheeled end/coffee tables. Was supposed to catch up with Karen and the NSC gang, but I couldn't find the park in Alameda, wasn't a total loss though, had managed to swing by Treasure Island and see Kiz play on her soccer team. Well I know how she manages to hurt herself so often, she's totally fearless, and in the space of 20 minutes or so, I saw her get injured 3 times the last bump on the knee actually took her out of the game.

Sunday, I played a bit of vball, then headed up to the city to meet with Elaine and the rest of the Jackson Hole gang for dinner (Zazin in Cole Valley) that was pretty fun, after I got home (at 10pm) I took my bp and it was still really low (considering it was 6 hrs since I had played) 135/72 ... But today after work it was 145/93 ... must be work ;) Did manage to finally find a Yoga class to go to, at my Gold Gym, free even, after 15 minutes I was ready to quit cuz I couldn't figure out all of the instructions .. it got better after that though, I think I'll keep it up for awhile to see if I can get the hang of it. Forced stretching is better than no stretching at all .. and since the class is at 8:30pm, I can go a bit earlier and then ride a bike or something.

wow, updates are getting really sporadic, still haven't moved upstairs, or even setup the new futon since I don't want to upset Fila with another move, he didn't take well to staying at the vet's this past weekend -- they couldn't even give him his shots, so we had to start all over again at the higher dose before backing it down.

The weekend before last, I kept getting woken up by head/neck pains in the morning, finally that monday I found a dentist, who recommended and endodontist, and then had a root canal. He had to drill right through one of my crowns, at least most of the pain was gone before I left for LA. Even still, after LA, my temp came off so they had to refill it, next week I go in to have them finish the root canal.

LA was pretty fun, the vball matches were good, although BYU didn't look so hot on thursday they were awesome in wiping out UCLA in the championship. I got to see Rod while I was down there, but we missed on dinner since his new place wasn't open yet, and since he just got a new apt (cool, by the beach, a mile from the resturant) he had to book to SF to pick up all his gear. I did help him move in on sunday when he got back, so the next trip should be the opening for real. Its a cool place ZaZen, right next to The Cow's End on Washington, brand new building, can't wait to see the water wall in action.

I even got to the beach one day, sunburned to prove it, and although I was kinda injured Lori carried me to a win on the beach, but I was still exhausted. I did manage to meet Karen's friend Sabrina down there too, after much phone tag, next time she'll join us at Rod's resturant.

Works been busy, going to pick up some different responsiblities soon so the overlap, and completion is going to be pretty hectic. Still managed to sneak out to a movie with Kiz (The Mummy Returns) and she suggested that I check out Golds and see if they had Yoga classes, cuz the one I was going to take was actually at a different time. Good thing too, not only is there a late class on a good day (all walk ins) its included as part of the monthly that I've been paying for the past 2 years ... might as well finally get some use out of that pass.
