So its been a pretty busy week, spent a good amount of time
trying to get my expired bonus travel ticket extended, finally they
did, and then the Sonics won so now I get to spend the next week up
in Seattle going to the 2 home games.
This past weekend was pretty fun, had dinner up in the City with
Elaine Y and the ski gang. She was visiting from NY and only had a short
stop over to visit. Then saturday it was off to SteveK's for a 70's party
kinda fun, some different folks there.
Sunday was IKEA !!!, bought a couple of screens for cheap and another
pair of night stands to match my dresser. I also managed to fit 4 folding chairs
and a rolling hanging rack for my sports clothes into my car, was pretty iffy
there for a while but it all just fit.
Monday it was dinner in the city at Roy's because Rod was back in town -- pretty
fun catching up, and he even showed us a new Hawaiian place (Hookelau, Geary and Masonic)
that was pretty good.
Tuesday I went to see a PT for my shoulder since its still pretty bad, they worked
it out and used the electro stim, but I still have a couple of weeks of rehab ahead.
Even still, it was pretty good a bball that night.

Hey, today was Elena's birthday so we went out for some excellent Cuban food
at a place called Habana Cuba (yes that's how its spelled).
This past week was wet, wet, and wetter in Seattle, had fun catching up
with Doug, Jenny, Cheri and Damon at Tracy's wedding reception. It was
especially nice seeing Jean (Tracy's mom) again since its been a while. She
was surprised that my parents knew Tracy's husband's family, but he's Chinese
so what would you expect in Seattle.
How wet was it? the Saturday rain record was 0.55" but it actually poured
down 1.45" with gale force winds. Kat tried to talk me into sailing with
her crew but I opted for some indoor fun instead.
That morning I went with Linda and Rick (from work) to Wades for some
target practice. I even tried out George's Glock .40 but its trigger guard
pinched so I then demo'd 4 other .40's to see what I liked. The Kehr was
too small (single stack) and kicked way too hard. The H&K compact was
a bit hard to handle, kicked hard with a short handle. The Baretta was
a nice, heavy full size gun, very similar to my Sig, stable and accurate
but just massive. The leading candidate is currently the S&W Model 99,
the molded handle was just a bit thin and would require a slip on to build up
but otherwise this was a fun gun, good size and heft, very accurate
and not too much of a kick. Now if I could just try the Sig .40, even still
I think the Sig may be just about twice the price.
Managed to get in a day of bball this week too, even still the shoulder is still
sore, and near the end my ankle tweaked out (bone spur pinched) so I quit early,
at least the weather is looking up so I should be able to start playing a bit
of outdoor vball to supplement my exercise.

Last update for a bit since I'll be in Seattle for about a week. The tourny
this past weekend was a bust, we were playing pretty well but had to forfit
out of the tourny section since someone had to go home. Oh well, at least we
ended the season on a good note. On the down side, big idiot was dangerous
again, running over people (me especially) and whining, will be glad to never
play with him again.
Saturday night was dinner in Santa Cruz with Elena and her sister, sunday
was lazy day (recovering from the tourny) and I got to meet Elena's new
roommate Maryanne.
Monday was an appointment with my new orthopedic massage therapist -- pretty good
loosened up the shoulder quite a bit. My neck was sore from the collision but it seemed
to be better that evening. Must've slept funny that night though cuz my neck was sore
the next day, and bball was a waste cuz I couldn't turn my head quick enough. I then
wrenched my shoulder a bit and called it an early night of icing.
Tonight was dinner and movie (Big Trouble, big fun) with Elena before more icing.
Hopefully my neck'll be better by sunday so I can play at SMB.
Fila has been pretty good with the insulin dose, however this weekend there was something
odd, his left ear was red and overly warm. The vet thinks it may be allergies, so now
I have to give him 2 pills a day, what fun.

Well the paint is dry, but the boards stuck to the drop cloth, I decided that
I should paint them on sawhorses instead so it was off to Home Depot, luckily
they cut the 2x4's for me, but when I got home, I noticed that the legs were
still too long, so I then put my mitre saw together and got to work ... power
tools are fun. Don't know what I was thinking though, I only bought enough
wood and brackets to make 1 saw horse *Doh* and of course Home Depot was closed
by the time I figured it out. Oh well, no painting today, maybe sunday.
This week was pretty uneventful, got some bball in, but the body is still
toast, put my new clear taillight on the bike, and updated the website
with the latest bike pictures. Oh, and look at the bios carefully, I was just given
a bit of surprising information that isn't quite public knowledge yet, but
I'm sure you'll all be hearing about it soon.

Well, lets start with the bad news, I was layed off on friday, so I
cleaned out my office saturday afternoon, sorta, actually, as an april fools
prank, I did clean out my office (totally) and then didn't go in to work
till after lunch and was "surprised" at my empty office. Now I get to redecorate
from scratch. Most of my co-workers were guessing for a few hours but it was all
in fun.
So last Friday Elaine Wang was in town from NY so the ski gang got together at
Buca de Beppo's for dinner, big dishes, big eaters, but excellent desserts and it
was fun catching up with everyone. Thursday night my cd label maker arrived so I
was up really late (3am) getting all of the cd's ready for everyone. Bummer was that
my inkjet printer wasn't hooked up, and by the time I got it working I noticed
that it was out of black ink -- so I ended up doing gray scale labels off of the
laser printer instead .. still it turned out ok.
This past weekend was home project prep time, was going to buy my baseboards, but
then was told that most electric nail guns (like the one I was going to borrow) wouldn't
do the job, so it was hunting time for an inexpensive compressor and finishing gun.
Luckily Home Depot had a good compressor/nail gun combo for $300 .. then I had to figure
out how to get the baseboards home. This morning I went in and had them cut 10 14' boards down
to 9' and 5' lengths, which, surprisingly fit into my car. Then this evening
I started painting them, hopefully I'll actually cut and install some of them by this weekend.
The rest of the weekend was pretty fun, dinner/movie with Elena, then off to a rather
nice brunch with Elena and her sister at the Brookdale Lodge, very good and very cool
since it had a real stream running through the middle of it.
Good news on the Fila front too, he's now down to 1 shot a day (1 unit) and his
fructosamine level is still down around 3.3 which is well within normal ranges. My
vet thinks that maybe he might not need the shots at all, but we'll probably
work him down over the next few weeks.
