Well tried to do the finish work on the baseboards, got the putty working pretty well now all I need is to touch up with paint. Next I start on the master bedroom after that I should be experienced enough to take on all of the visible public areas downstairs. I expect things to go faster and faster as I get more practice.

It's been raining hard here, but at least my roof isn't leaking now, hopefully it'll stop by saturday for our drive to LA. Work has been keeping me pretty busy, but we're gonna have a rather long break soon so its not so bad. I forgot to mention that we got together with Cheryl, Kent, Karen and a friend of hers for dinner last Friday, seems like its been forever since I've seen those folks ... but it was even longer for Karen, I think she calculated at least 1 year since she's seen Cheryl ... There was lots to catch up on, and one of the more interesting topics is that Jenny (also from NY and skiing) may end up in SF permemently in April ... we'll have to see how that all works out.

Time has been flying, have bought most all of the gifts, but haven't wrapped yet, and now its too late to mail most things ... I guess the Seattle gifts will be going as checked baggage to be delivered late (as usual ;) Guess I'll have to fit wrapping in amoungst the baseboard work.

So much travel, so much shopping. Thanksgiving was pretty busy, Elena made an excellent meal for her sister, Jason and I, turkey, which is unusual for me, but I talked them into rice all the same ;) Then it was back to Seattle for more Sonics, but they wern't playing all that well.

Saw a few movies (Potter 3 times since everyone wanted to go ;) but spent most of my free time prep'ing my baseboards ... Go a set painted and finally practiced my install techniques on the guest root. Now all I need to do is putty/fill and touch up paint and then I can start on the rest of the house. The compressor and nail gun worked great ... as did the compound mitre saw. The deadline for this project is then end of Jan, since I have to have most of the house cleaned up by then ... stay tuned for why.

The end of December will be pretty busy, we're going to LA to see everyone and then we're off to Seattle for Kat's open house/New Year's party, and I've gotten a bunch of flights booked for the Jan/Feb sonics games too.

Oh and on my last trip back to Seattle I made an IKEA run with Kat, I'd been looking for a set of wall sconces that they used to carry but they're not in the catalog anymore, nor were they in the SF store. Last time I was in the Seattle store they had the display up but no stock .. this time they had some so I bought a pair and installed them in my stairwell .. they're pretty bright but still nicer than the originals. Now if I could just find some matching ceiling lights that come in both small and large sizes.
