Wild week, finally got the baseboards done, and then the cleaning started, if you can imagine it, you'd be amazed, even still, I got everything done by the 25th, just in time for the big event..... Elena & Gilbert Move In !!! So far its been working out pretty well, Gilbert hasn't attacked Fila, and Fila pretty much ignores Gilbert, that is until he's on our shoulder or near the floor, then Fila seems to want to get a sniff or two in .. I held him and Elena held Gilbert close, no hissing but Gilbert snapped at Fila a bit and then Fila seemed to lose interest rather quickly.

Surfing wirelessly off of Kat's cable modem, lots of benefits from being a roving network admin. In Seattle again, and the Sonics finally won !!

The latest small world story to share: Last week my dad asked me to be a pall bearer at a funeral. Apparently the woman who died was actually in our family association, so I figured I'd help out, especially since they could barely find 6 out of the 8 they wanted. Then a couple of days before the funeral (this morning as a matter of fact) my dad mentioned that I might know the family, and when he started naming names, well I went to school with one of them for about 8 years and dated one of the daughters too. There were lots of folks I knew at the funeral, I'm sure plenty of them were surprised to see me there ... especially since most of them know that I don't live in town anymore.

Anyway the rest of the day was pretty fun, shopping at North Bend with Kat, now I have to ship a box home ;) On the house front I managed to finish cutting all of the baseboards for the main floor of the house, now all that remains is to nail them in, putty and paint and then clean up ... just barely on schedule for the 25th but looks doable. Hopefully nothing unusual comes up in the upcoming week.

Hectic holidays ... lots of travel, drove down for the pre-christmas weekend in the pouring rain to LA for Granddad's bday lunch, early Xmas dinner with Elena's family at her brothers house, and then a quick drive back home. We did get to see Kathy, Charlie and Mason before they headed off to Boston, he's growing like a weed and even chatted quite a bit. We also got dinner in with Lori and Glenn (King's Hawaiian *yum*) where they told us the good news, a mini-Glenn due in May. Unfortunately Lori has had to stop all volleyball, hopefully she won't go stir crazy in the next few months.

Christmas dinner was a nice quiet affair, Elena cooked pork roast for Michelle and Jason and I, then the next day it was off to Seattle to help Kat unpack and prepare for the New Year's Party. True to form it rained most of the time we were there, but we still got some sight-seeing in, Elena especially liked Denise's Parrot shop and Snoqualmie Falls.

New Years was very entertaining .. a pretty good crowd, it was nice to catch up with everyone and I'm sure everyone got a kick out of meeting Elena, and she was a good sport about it too. The party went very late, lots of Champagne was drunk, and it turns out that Kat doesn't need Goldschlager to have interesting encounters, at least the red wine stain on her new IKEA carpet was close to its color. Oh, and now she's surfing the internet in style, cable modem and wireless to boot.

The baseboards are coming along nicely, I got the 2nd bedroom done, and cut the boards for the master, now I just have to measure and cut the downstairs and then I can nail them all in and do the touch up painting. It looks doable, but will be tight as I have to have everything (including cleaning up and reorganizing) by Jan 25th, but I'm spending about half the time in Seattle to see the Sonics play.
