Finally got all of my software loaded on the new machine (at
1280x1024 resoultion no less) still no desk or couch but soon
good thing no one is visiting for a while. Oh and because of
2 (!!) refinary accidents, gas has gone up from $1.39 to $1.75 per
gallon, (premium of course) :0

I registered my car today, and it cost about 50% of what it costs
in Seattle !!, now it just has to pass emissions and I get a new
set of plates. Got my monitor, but it's only 640x480 since I don't
have a high res adapter (yet), and the DVD player has now shown up
so I can start collecting movies next.

The weekend was really fun, nice to see all of the family around,
too bad they all had to share one computer (way too much surfing
going on through my dads poor little iMac) I also got to spend some
quality time with some of the volleyball crowd --
Happy Birthday Juliet, thanks for the for the last hand Cindy it
put me ahead for the night, and yes, I have gossip about a
previously predicted coupling ;)

I passed both the care & motorcycle written exams, now I'm a
licensed CA driver, everyone, stay off the sidewalks and don't
cross at a stop sign ;) Next up, finishing the registration process
for my car.

Went to the TOAST class (Training On All Special Things) for new
employees, most of it was given by the CEO & Executive staff. I
never thought I would say this, but I think I'm gonna like this
company much more than McCaw (The ATAC team itself however still
reigns as the best local team that I have ever been a part of).
Not only were they all accessible (they abandoned the lecture
format whenever possible) they answered every questions, even the
hard and/or speculative ones. It is surprising enough that they
answered the questions, but it was also clear that they had put
alot of thought into the rational behind the answers so that
nothing would be overly surprising, this is the best managed
company I've ever seen.
