Ken & Dana's Wedding/Reception (8/16/2003)Warning these can take a while to load
It was an outdoor wedding, at Don Amichi Park not far from Dana's apartment in Alki.
We all had to show up early to help setup, it was a bit windy then but settled down
nicely for the wedding. The area overlooks the Elliot Bay and was a gorgeous backdrop.
When the flowers got there we were all primping for awhile, good thing the photographer
was very experienced in putting them on folks. However, we never could decide
which of us had our pocket squares folded the right way.
Then it was time for pictures of the bride and groom ..
Clearly there wasn't enough for the rest of the wedding party to do yet...
So lets just walk a block to look for a better location, and a nicer flowering plant ...
Then it was time for the bridesmaids pictures ...
Dana was a good sport about the pictures ...
As was her family, who came all the way from Indonesia for the wedding ...
Then it was time for Ken's family ...
Here I am with my other "sister" just to confuse folks ...
After the pictures were done, we had some time to kick back and visit
with the arriving guests, both before and after the ceremony. I have no
pictures of the ceremony because I was busy trying to stand still as one of the
groomsmen ...
Hmmm, might have misspoke .. these look like the actual
ceremony, maybe Miyo K (who was holding my camera) was nice
enough to take a few pictures... but then it could have been
the mini-rehersal we had over at the side of the park ..
Anyway back to the gathering ...
The reception was held at Salty's on Alki, just about a mile away, pretty nice setup,
although my flash didn't seem to have enough reach ...
The wedding favors were pretty neat, first there were chocolate pebbles in the bag, then
the nifty fan and good luck charms from Indonesia (I think)...
Of course the food was pretty good too ..
These are some of the folks were at the table when Ken & Dana came around for pictures ...
Then there were more traditional pictures, including their first toast ...
Cake, theres always cake, and it was yummy too ...
